About this centre

KUMON is a unique method of teaching mathematics and English that has been around for 60 years and has continued to evolve.

The success of this method is based on several principles, including observing the child's potential and using his or her abilities to the fullest; providing individualised guidance and tools, which motivate the child to learn more while solidifying the foundations of maths and English.

Our first priority is to foster the confidence and independence of our students. Along the way, they will gradually improve to become effective self-learners, preparing themselves to meet life's challenges.

The KUMON programme enables children and teenagers to learn to overcome difficulties and failures, such as: difficult new subjects, learning difficulties, concentration problems, independence problems, etc. These tools, acquired in the medium to long term, will serve them throughout their learning process: studies after school and evolution in the professional world.

Each student will start at his or her own level and progress to levels that may be higher than those of his or her class. They will be monitored at the centre twice a week for approximately 30 minutes and will receive worksheets for the other five days of the week.

About the Instructor

I am a mother of two teenagers, who have been educated in English (including four years in London).

I love children and enjoy helping them learn. Even as a teenager, I used to help my classmates and give remedial lessons to children in my neighbourhood. Similarly, when I joined the university, my friends used to come to my house to study for exams.

So for me, being a KUMON instructor is a unique opportunity to help and encourage children in their learning and especially to contribute to their personal development and growth (self-confidence, positivity and love of work). But also to listen to them and observe them well to offer them the best KUMON experience.

As a parent, I was introduced to KUMON in London and was extremely pleased with the experience, which enabled my children to make considerable progress in English, in writing and grammar, among other things, but also to develop autonomy in learning and to strengthen their self-confidence.
Because learning according to the Kumon KUMON and English - allows the child to acquire autonomy in learning and thus become master of his future: happy to learn and not discouraged in front of difficulties.
Obviously, the sooner the pupil learns these tools, the sooner he or she will be able to use them in his or her school career.

We understand that what is important for the student is to progress in a serene and confident learning environment. Thus a personalised programme allows them to progress at their own pace, but also to progress beyond the academic curriculum if they so wish; because the interest is to exploit their potential to the maximum to give them self-confidence and satisfaction. All these motivational factors will push the student to give his all to his learning and avoid dropping out of school and the obstacle course to do homework.

Isn't this what every parent hopes for their child?

Popular Questions

KUMON offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, KUMON empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each KUMON student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the KUMON International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. KUMON welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Students can start learning with KUMON from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; KUMON helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, KUMON will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
As a global programme, KUMON does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the KUMON Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. KUMON operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
KUMON is a self-learning programme but each student receives regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each KUMON Instructor is to observe their students working, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
